16th and 17th March 2013 was a historic weekend for the Sunderland Stake as it celebrated 50th Anniversary of the Sunderland Stake.
Saturday consisted of Youth activities on the morning, Primary and Adult activities on the evening.

Each unit brought display of the history of their Ward/Branch and Pres John Deacon gave a Quiz on Stake History.
 


There was plenty of refreshments and each Units Relief Society brought a cake for the Best Cake Competition.


The evening finished with a Barn Dance by Bro & Sis Burdon.
Sunday 17th March was a special Stake Conference with Sacrament being prepared by 8 Priesthood, and passed by 16 members of the Priesthood from around the Stake.
Talks were given by all surviving past Stake Presidents: John Maxwell, Leslie Pearce, Terrance Cawthorne, Norman Johnson, and current Stake President Scott Spencer.
It was a lovely Conference

31st March – 6pm Stake Easter Fireside – Newcastle Chapel.

1st April - Ward Easter Family Fun Day
Day consisted of games for the children, quiz for adults & guess the number of the sweets in the jar - won by David Hughes.
The children and some adults decorated eggs, and cups for their Easter basket to collect sweets for the egg hunt. There were plenty of sweets for everyone, all of the children filled their "basket" and most filled their pockets too. The refreshments was hot dogs and biscuits. Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. There were appox. 30 children and 20 something Adults.
